HOT? OR NAH? HOT CAN COLD CAN SYSTEM

COLD CAN IDEA WRAP THE CAN IN A COLD DAMP PAPER TOWEL AND SET BY THE WINDOWSILL.

Cold can cools by the window at one of the farthest points away from the heater. This prototype uses convection.

ENERGY TRANSFER COLD CAN HEAT FROM WATER COLD DAMP PAPER TOWEL THE COLD CLASSROOM AIR conduction convection

HOT CAN IDEA PREVENT COOLING BY USING A SOCK TO PREVENT THERMAL ENERGY FROM TRANSFERRING OUT. WE ALSO WANTED TO USE RADIATION FROM THE LIGHT BULB TO HEAT UP THE CAN.

ENERGY TRANSFER HOT CAN LIGHT BULB SOCK WATER radiation conduction

CONCLUSION IN CONCLUSION, OUR COLD CAN WORKED RELATIVELY WELL, GOING DOWN FROM 40C TO 26.4C, A DROP OF 13.6C. IT WAS 7C COLDER THAN THE CONTROLLED CAN. OUR HOT CAN DID NOT WORK THAT WELL BECAUSE THE END TEMPERATURE WAS ONLY 1.4C WARMER THEN THE CONTROLLED. IT STARTED AT 40C AND DROPPED DOWN TO 35C, A 5C CHANGE. THE COLD CAN WAS 9.6C COOLER THAN THE WARM CAN. IMPROVEMENTS FOR ANOTHER TRIAL WOULD BE TO HOLD THE CAN TO KEEP IT WARM, AND TO ONLY USE ONE PAPER TOWEL ON THE COLD CAN. YOU CAN SEE OUR IDEAS USED THESE IDEAS IN REAL LIFE BECAUSE PEOPLE WEAR GLOVES AND SOCKS SOMETHING TO KEEP THEMSELVES WARM. OUR COLD CAN IDEAS CAN BE SEEN IN REAL LIFE WHEN PEOPLE GO TO COOL WATER TO TRANSFER ENERGY OUT OF THEIR BODIES ON A HOT DAY, WITH A COOL BREEZE FROM CONVECTION.
