Present and Future of China Satellite-Based Augmentation System China Satellite Navigation Office February 2014

Contents  Present of China Satellite-Based Augmentation System  Future of China Satellite-Based Augmentation System

Present of China Satellite-Based Augmentation System BeiDou Satellite Navigation System is designed integrating of the basic navigation system and the Satellite-Based Augmentation System, and it can provide basic navigation service as well as differential augmentation service. The service has been on line since Dec. 27 th, At the same time, experiments on the Satellite-Based Augmentation technology that provides service to GPS L1 C/A based on BeiDou GEO satellites have been implemented, and the results have demonstrated its feasibility.

Present of China Satellite-Based Augmentation System  System composition 3 GEO Satellites ( 80°E, 110°E, 140°E ) 29 monitor stations 1 master control station

Present of China Satellite-Based Augmentation System  B1 I of Signal in Space, Main content is as follows, detail is on ICD ParametersUpdate rateRemarks Augmentation health information SatH23 s Satellite health flag for integrity and differential correction information Satellite augmentation information △t△t 18 s Equivalent clock correction UDREI3 s User differential range error index RURA18 s Regional user range accuracy index Grid ionospheric augmentation information △τ△τ 6 min Vertical ionospheric delay at grid point GIVEI6 min Grid ionospheric vertical delay error index  System accuracy: 3-5m; Other performance are beening tested

Contents  Present of China Satellite-Based Augmentation System  Future of China Satellite-Based Augmentation System

Future of China Satellite-Based Augmentation System  Aims Service area :China and surrounding areas Support single frequency and multi-frequency users Multi-system augmentation ability Consider the possible of being compatible and interoperable with EGNOS and WAAS Provide CAT-I service

Future of China Satellite-Based Augmentation System  Technology roadmap Launch 3 GEO satellites : 80°E,110°E,140°E Increase ground monitor stations: About 40 stations(China and surrounding areas) Upgrade the algorithm of master control station : Provide dual frequency, multi-system service Increase B1C(L1),B2a(L5) signal, being compatible and interoperable with SBAS Broadcast augmentation information : Broadcast ephemeris/clock corrections, grid ionospheric correction and its corresponding integrity parameters. The format meets international standards.

Future of China Satellite-Based Augmentation System  Development plan 2012 China Satellite-Based Augmentation System modernization (B1C,B2a) China Satellite-Based Augmentation System( B1I) IOC
