IDBR Units

Ownership – current definition “Scottish-owned” enterprises are UK-owned enterprises that have their registered office in Scotland. In the majority of cases the registered office will be based on the address provided in the VAT return. UK government business statistics similarly allocate businesses to Scotland using the VAT office address. Commercial databases, such as the Business Insider 500, tend to allocate companies to Scotland based on Company House registered office address.
