John Grandits Books he has written

Information Information Oddly enough he didn’t become funny until he was 55 years old. John Grandits is a poet, typographer, art director, designer, and writer. He’s written cartoons, articles, humor pieces, and fiction and nonfiction for both children and adults. Occasionally he’s been published. In his previous life he was associated with a number of juvenile.

Fun Facts He loves visiting schools and libraries to read his poems and stories. Born 1949; married to Joanne; John is now 63. Home—Red Bank, NJ. Agent—Andrea Cascardi, Trans-atlantic Literary Agency, 72 Glengowan Rd., Toronto, Ontario M4N 1G4, Canada. Cheese or chocolate? Cheese. Coffee or tea? Coffee. Cats or dogs? Both, except for one cat in particular. (You know who I mean.) Favorite color? Green Favorite snack food? Potato chips. Favorite ice cream? Vanilla. Water or soda ? Water.

Career John Grandits started his career in children's book publishing as a book designer, typographer, writer, art director, and a poet. He has also worked as an art director at the highly praised Cricket magazine. However, he is best known to middle-grade and teen readers as the author of several verse novels featuring concrete poetry.

Family. Gilbert throws up constantly, claws everything, eats plastic (which makes him throw up more), and bites (us and visitors!). When we took him to the vet last month they were stunned to find out that Gilbert was 14 years old. They thought he was 7. Only the good die young. Joanne is John Grandits’ wife. She is a children's librarian. Joanne, pictured below, is teaching and helping little kids.
