 The Japanese Soccer League (JSL) was in top flight during 1965 –  Soccer was the second sport to become national in Japan.  There is a lot of promotion for Soccer.  In 1991 the JSL was disbanded, which then formed the Japanese Football Association. (JFA)  This is also known as the Soccer Nippon Daihyo.

 The Japanese women’s team is currently ranked 4 th in the world.  They also took gold at home in  They hold 5 gold medals including one in the world championships in 1977.

 This is also known as modern day Ping Pong.  Table tennis is held by the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF).  The ITTF was founded in 1926 and now had 215 members.  Table tennis was a Olympic sport from  Table Tennis originated in Britain in the 1880’s and became popular all over the world, especially in Japan.

 The Japanese rugby team is know as the Cherry Blossoms or also as the Brave Blossoms.  The Japanese team is the strongest union in Asia, but they have had harder time with non-Asian teams in the past such as there loss to the Scottish team.  The Japanese have competed in Rugby World Cup every year since  The first international match for Japan was against Canada in 1932.
