Jennifer Beatty SERVICE LEARNING
Service-learning is a type of Experiential Education that combines and pursues both Academic Achievement and community service in a seamless weave, requiring the use of effective Reflection exercises. The goal of service-learning, through linking academics to the community, is to develop the skills, sensitivities, and commitments necessary or effective Citizenship in a democracy. SERVICE LEARNING
My definition of service learning is… Replacing learning in the classroom with hands-on learning in the community. With this type of learning I think you learn more lessons and skills then anything but it all amounts to knowledge. SERVICE LEARNING

Service learning is a great way to reach out to the community. Service learning will make you feel good about helping someone else. BENEFITS OF SERVICE LEARNING
PICTURES Me driving the beverage cart. Me patching up holes on the golf course.
During my service learning project I… Went to a golf course. Drove around a beverage cart. Served golfers drinks. Picked up balls that were lost in the bushes. Helped golfers with anything they needed. WHAT I DID IN MY SERVICE LEARNING
PICTURES Me texting while riding in the beverage cart. My writing down someone’s score for them.
I got to experience how great it feels to volunteer. I learned proper golf etiquette. I learned good customer service. WHAT I GOT OUT OF MY EXPERIENCE
