Tornado Town Hotel By: Luke Loving, Nickey Pappas, Olivia Wall, and Jenna Woodard

Tornado Town Hotel Our tower’s purpose is to be a hotel. It is located down town. This is our first design.

Tornado Town Hotel The above is a picture of our improved design.

Tornado Town Hotel You can stand on the sign because it is a balcony. The poles inside the building contain stairs and elevators. You can register in different color rooms that match the colors of the window frames outside the window. This building has slides down it for kids and the rest of the family. Tornado Town is very comfortable and colorful.

Tornado Town Hotel We planned to have a very sturdy structure on the first try and we thought it would stand the earthquake test. What really happened was the first try it fell apart. It stood in the wind test, but it fell in the earthquake. The second time there wasn’t as much damage, but it still fell. What went right was we stuck the building down with clay and the bottom stayed down. What went wrong was it wasn’t sturdy enough. We improved by making it sturdier.

Tornado Town We learned that you can’t always get it right on the first try (Jenna), that you need to make a sturdy base or it will topple over (Olivia), that your own ideas aren’t always the best (Nickey), and that you have to make a sturdy structure to pass the earthquake test (Luke).

Cost We spent $9.90 on our tower. We stayed in our budget and still made a great tower!
