Special Employer Incentive Advantages to the Employer –Hiring qualified veterans at trainee wage –Employee is trained by employer’s standards –Tax Incentives –Required tools, uniforms and supplies are supplied –Minimal Paperwork

Special Employer Incentive Benefits for veterans –Valuable skills are learned in a practical setting –Permanent placement expected after program ends –Immediate Income and same benefits as other entry level employees –Salary is supplemented by VA –Employer is willing to accommodate disabilities –Incentive helps veteran overcome barriers to employment

What is Non-Paid Work Experience? NPWE Program provides eligible veterans with practical job experiences. Placement can be at any government facility that will provide the veteran with a work experience consistent with their vocational rehabilitation goals. There is no cost to the employer; the veteran receives a subsistence allowance from the VA. (Authorized by Public Law )

Purpose of Federal NPWE Supplements other training or experience Gives hands-on experience in veteran’s chosen vocational field Provides current work experience/ work history (good for resume) Builds confidence Provides subsistence allowance Provides exposure to government employment opportunities Work adjustment
