By adding particles that reflect certain wavelengths of light, which are invisible to us but still radiate heat, the surface will not have the same build-up of temperature as a non-treated surface. Treated materials appear dark to the eye but light in the wavelengths we cannot see. A black treated material reflects more than 60% of radiance heat.
