Rocky Fork Creek Food Pyramid By Billy Brehm

Creek Food Pyramid Producers – also known as autotrophs, are at the bottom of the pyramid, after raw materials 1 st level consumers, heterotrophs 2 nd level consumers, heterotrophs Decomposers

Producers in Rocky Fork

Producers Algae Microscopic organisms

1 st Level Consumers Some of the consumers in the first level of the Rocky Fork Creek food pyramid would be herbivores, such as insects. Mayflies with their three long hair like tails are in this level. Water pennies and snails are also 1 st level consumers in Rocky Fork Creek.

1 st Level Consumers Mayfly Water Penny Lunged Snail

2 nd Level Consumers Fish were found as second level consumers in the class’s water sample of Rocky Fork Creek. Two type of fish could be the Creek Chub and Green Sunfish. Both are found in the streams of the Rocky Fork watershed, and are pollutant tolerant.
