Carries out and promotes research, experimentation, evaluations, information, consultancy services and technical assistance for the development of vocational training and social and employment policies. Works mainly in cooperation with the Ministry of Labour and Social Policies but also with central administrations, with the Regions, the European Union and international bodies. ISFOL is a State-owned research institution that

For its research and technical-scientific consultancy services, ISFOL is organized in two macro-areas, dealing with: training systems social and labour market policies These macro-areas are divided into units performing specific tasks.

Under its institutional competences ISFOL: supports the Italian Ministry of Labour in the implementation of the activities planned in the field of Joint Declaration on VET has financed for the period jointly with the Ministry of Labour - the project Centre for EuroMediterranean cooperation

Technical-scientific support with regards to VET: in the 2011, organization of a workshop devoted to the European Qualification Framework and its implementation at national level. Promotion of networking with Italian key actors (institutions, universities, research centres) on projects and initiatives involving the following topics: research & development, nanotechnologies, biotechnologies, renewable energy.
