 John Paul Jones (July 6, 1747 – July 18, 1792) was a Scottish sailor and the United States first well-known naval fighter in the American Revolutionary.

 John Paul Jones (July 6, 1747 – July 18, 1792) was a Scottish sailor and the United States first well-known naval fighter in the American Revolutionary War. Although he made enemies among America's political elites, his actions in British waters during the Revolution earned him an international reputation which persists to this day. As such, he is sometimes referred to as the "Father of the United States Navy" (an epithet he shares with John Barry). He later served in the Imperial Russian Navy.

 John played a role of being a fighter in the revolutionary war.  And a father of the united states navy.

 John was a Patriot because he was the father of the United States Navy.

 John paul jones survive the war.  And then he treated with the Dey of algiers for the release of American captures.  Later after that he died of a severe brain tumor.

 Which enlightment idea that influenced john paul jones was the idea of freedom.  Which was the idea john locke made that influenced john locke to fight for freedom.

 My opinion is he was probably a good man because he fight in the war  And he was fighting for his stufff and his rights
