Mummies were once pharaohs. Mummies were wrapped in bandages. Their organs were removed before they were wrapped. It was a very careful procedure. The body was covered in oils and spices. They are buried with all their things. These things are often stolen by grave robbers.  This is pharaoh Khufu:

PHARAOH YEARSTHE DISCOVERY Tutankhamen, became king at 8/9. He died when he was 18/19. He is known as the ‘boy king’. This is because he became king so young.  In 1922, Howard Carter discovered Tutankhamen's tomb. He was looking for 6 straight years. He was going to give up when he found it.

The River Nile was very important to Egyptians. Every year the Nile flooded and left rich thick mud. If the River Nile did not exist Egypt would be a desert. Farmers grew crops along the Nile.

The Great Pyramid was demanded by Khufu. They made it because Khufu wanted to be remembered. One whole block weighed around 400 men.
