The glaciers of Adamello- Presanella group Val Rendena is nestled in a beatiful landscape with the majstic Brenta group to east and the rocky snow- covered peaks of the Adamello- Presanella Group to the west. The area is an extremely articulated and diversified zone, with the spectacular uniquiness of its mountains landscape at its heart and the remarkable geological and geomorphological diversity of the 2 mountains ranges that dominate it.

In contrast with the peaks and ridges that dominate the Brenta and Adamello- presanella ranges, there are the gentler more ralling features of the terraces of Val di Non, Bleggio and Banale. Dolomitic rocky sides surround the glaciers of Adamello on the North side. This glaciers is fed by awalondes that fall from the surrosanding rocky sides. Particularly more than 250 metres. impressive and significant are the erosion and accumulation glacial morphologies that characterize the glaciers surraundings. The Adamello-Presanellais about 5 km wide a with a surface of more than 15km², this glaciers can be deep 250 metres

The glacier provide the water for the famous Nardis water fall in Genova valley near Pinzolo. the area around the Adamello- Presanella Group is an area with a strong tourist appeal: a mountain hike at the foot of these glaciers is a unique experience

the Adamello was the highest front during the first world war. WoW

The Adamello-Presanella Group was included in the list of UNESCO protected sites when the Dolomites were declare UNESCO world heritage site on 26/06/2009

Another important glacier of Adamello are vedretta del Mandrone, ghiacciaio del Pisgana, vedretta della Lobbia and vedretta di lares

Glaciers in Trentino The Presanella glaciers aren’t so large as those of Adamello because of its different morphological constitution. The largest glaciers of Presanella are: vedretta Presena and vedretta della Presanella.

Dolomites The highest peak in the Dolomites is the Marmolada (3343m) these mountains are called Dolomites because they are made of a stone called Dolomia A picture of Marmolada

Some pictures of Dolomites

Ortles-Cevedale Group Another important and impressive glacier is the Ghiacciaio dei forni, situated in the area between mount Ortles (3095 m) and mount Cevedale (3769m)it stretches for about 13 km² and is 3,5 km long. It is one of the largest glaciers in Trentino. The largest glacier is Adamello- Presanella with a surface of m² The second largest glacier is Ghiacciaio dei forni, with a surface of 13 km². The third largest glacier is Marmolada

Along the boundary between Trentino and Lombardia, in the Ortles-Cevedale Group you can find the highest peaks in the North- Easter Alps Vioz

Cevedale Gran Zebrù

In the last few years most of the glaciers in trentino are slowly receding because of the high temperature and after receding many bodie of dead first war world soldiers are brought to light Some news
