Minutemen Minutemen were farmers with ammunition and arms ready to fight a “defensive” war with Britain.

Lexington and Concord Paul Revere made his famous ride.. William Dawes… the other one. April of 1775, Dawes and Revere ride out to warn of British troops coming from Boston. They make it to Lexington before they are arrested. 7rI&list=PL3A31C28AB4727F75

Strategy The British return to New York in the summer of ,000 soldiers enter Boston with General William Howe. “Surrender, or face a battle against my men.” Washington shows up, with 19,000 men. They rejected Howe’s offer.

Failed Strategy and Yorktown Divide the Colonies. Yorktown Lafayette, Washington, Rochambeau, de Grasse, completely surround Cornwallis. He surrenders his 7,000 men as a band plays, “The world turned upside down”
