London Bridge has 3 arches which makes it an arch bridge. It is built over the River Thames. The current bridge opened on the 17 th March 1973 and is made out of concrete. On the south side of the bridge are Southwark Cathedral and London Bridge Station. On the north side of the bridge is the monument to the Great Fire of London and the Monument Tube Station.

The second London Bridge was designed by John Rennie in This bridge wasn’t made out of concrete it was made out of granite. Then later on it was bought by the Americans.

The Medieval London Bridge had 19 small arches. The narrow arches of the bridge meant the flow of water was made slower which meant the river had more chance of freezing. The Medieval London Bridge was made from wood.

The first London Bridge is thought to be built by the Romans some time in the first century.

 My mum and I went to see London Bridge. Here are some of the photos we took: This is a photo that I took of the monument to the Great Fire of London. Which is on the North side of the bridge.

This is a photo that I took of Southwark Cathedral. Which is on the South side of the bridge
