Human Rights

In the first stage we were talking about right and wrong in every day life.

Students got examples on working sheets and they were working in pairs, they had to think about who is right, what is right.

In pairs, students were discussing the issue and decided who/what they think is right and why.

Then each pair was thinking of a new situation. Some answers and situations were reported to the class.

We talked about students rights in the school community and where they are defined. A copy of a school statute was distributed and read aloud.

From the school statute they had to write what rights they have and rules they have to follow.

Then students presented what they wrote.

All of their ideas were put on the poster.

In the second stage, after short introducing by the teacher, each student got one article from the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

In third stage, we were talking about famous people who fight for human rights. Students were talking about rights which are not respected.

We listened to the famous speech of Martin Luther King.

La Vita e Bella by by Roberto Benini

In fourth stage, after seeing the movie, they wrote the essay about human rights.

In fifth stage, the students were expressing ideas about the impotance of human rights on posters.

In course evaluation form they wrote if they like this way of work.
