G/T Band & All State Information is located under the G/T Band and All State tab on the WLMS Band Website. Please encourage your child to audition if he practices consistently and shows a moderate level of responsibility. Mr. Messick will give the final nomination. All Wind Ensemble students will take the audition this year. Extra Credit is awarded to students who take auditions.

Solo and Ensemble Festival ALL STUDENTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO PARTICIPATE. One great performance opportunity. Students gain teamwork skills and refine their performance skills through the preparation for this event. Extra Credit is awarded to students who participate.

Helpful Hints The best times to ask Mr. Messick a question are first thing in the morning or last thing in the afternoon. The Band Room should be the first stop in the morning and the last stop in the afternoon. Instruments are kept in the Band Room, not in lockers.

Parents: photocopy your kid’s music at first sight of it. (This will save time in the event your child loses his music.) Label EVERYTHING!!!! Take out a rider on your insurance policy if you own the instrument and it is of substantial value. Encourage your kids to practice and perform for the family often.
