The brown paper technique demonstrates an approach to planning which uses the power of the team and also helps to build the team A brownpaper is a visual wall display (usually created on brown wrapping paper typically 3ft high and up to 20 ft long and utilising Post- It notes to record key information) It documents an entire plan, process or situation - capturing roles, a timeline and activities shown in “swim lanes” It provides a “high touch” visual of an entire plan It details the actual steps taken and highlights all activities, interfaces, decision points and information sources
