Join the circle of knowledge at your library –Lesson: Themed posters were laminated and cut up like puzzle pieces with a scavenger hunt on the back. –Postcard contest titled: There’s a story behind everything. Postcard length stories about a library experience were delivered to us through library school mail. –Famous quotes about reading were on display.

Guess the number of books in the library Host a storytelling festival In teacher’s lounge…leave a list of questions for discussion break times…What’s your story? What was the best advice your mother gave you? Name one turning point in your life? What did you wear to the prom? How do you relax in the dentist chair? Etc.

Theme: Change your your library –Breakfast with books -- Plays created and performed –List books that changed the world -- Book swap –Hand out open book template for all to fill in….3-5 great things about reading and display –Hats off to reading SSR for 15 minutes all wearing hats –Contest: “Best Read” junior high student was determined by a test that was given Create your own your library –Ideas: Write a mystery about a missing library book –Write a better title for the book than the one being used –Best excuse for a missing book
