Making Marriage Work

Stage #1 is the Ideal.

Stage #2. The Ideal becomes an Ordeal.

Stage #3. When either one of the spouses begins wishing for a New Deal.

Genesis 2:24 Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.

The first priority is leave.

“Son, you’re on your own, now. I’m here for counsel when you need it. But you won’t hear it unless you ask. And if you don’t make it work with you new wife, don’t come running home to us. NOTHING, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ON EARTH, IS TO TAKE PRECEDENCE OVER YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH YOUR MATE.

2. Cleve.

Genesis 2:24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife

The word “cleave” means “to cling or glue to something. To keep close to something and remain bonded to it.”
