Matter REVIEW
Rules A group will pick a question and have 30 seconds to answer. If they do not get the answer correct, the next group may steal the question. If a group steals a question, it is still their turn to choose the next question. When it is a group’s turn, they are allowed to discuss the correct answer with each other. Groups talking when it is not their turn will lose 100 points.
Heat TransferSolutionsConductors & Insulators Parts of a Wave
Heat Transfer The process when two objects transfer heat by coming into direct contact
Heat Transfer The process by which heat energy is transferred in gases and liquids.
Heat Transfer The process by which heat energy is transferred across distances in the form of electromagnetic waves.
Heat Transfer Why does an ice cube melt when it is in your hand? (Hint: must mention energy.)
Heat Transfer Give a “real-world” example of : Conduction, convection, and radiation.
Chemical Energy Solutions What is a solute in a solution?
Solutions What is a solvent in a solution?
Solutions If I am making a solution of kool-aid which part(s) are the solute? Which part(s) are the solvent?
Solutions Give an example of a solution and explain which is the solvent and which is the solute. (can not use kool-aid example!)
Solutions Explain, what is a solution?
Conductors & Insulators What is a conductor?
Conductors & Insulators What is an insulator?
Conductors & Insulators Name three examples of good conductors… be specific
Conductors & Insulators Name three examples of good insulators… be specific
Conductors & Insulators Explain why stepping from a carpet onto a tile floor, makes your bare feet suddenly feel cold?
Parts of a Wave The highest peak of a wave?
Parts of a Wave The lowest point or valley of a wave.
Parts of a Wave The distance from one wave peak to another wave peak.
Parts of a Wave This part of the wave shows how much energy a wave has. It is the distance between the center of the wave to the peak.
Parts of a Wave The ratio that shows how many waves pass through a fixed point in a given amount of time (usually 1 second).

Final Jeopardy As a group, decide how many points you want to risk Remember, if you miss the question, you will lose however many points you risk Each group writes their answer on a sheet of paper
Final Jeopardy Using complete sentences write out your final response… Explain what temperature is and how thermometers work!
