January 16, 2015 Check Vocab 10, check predicate adj, predicate nominatives, group translations

Predicate Nominatives ●Always follow a linking verb ●“Complement” the subject of a sentence *Think of the line separating the verb and predicate adjective as if it’s leaning back to point to the subject. Subjectlinking verb noun that refers back to the subject

In your groups... ●Continue translating your scene o Remember, you are translating line by line o It’s okay if this is difficult, it should be! 1.If I see you with a phone out while you’re doing the translation, I’ll take it as cheating, remove you from your group and give you an essay assignment. 1.You may write one copy of your translations, but everyone’s name should be on it. 1.If you aren’t actively helping your group, you’ll get a warning. If the problem persists, you’ll be removed from your group and given an essay assignment.

Before you leave You must turn in your group’s translation. Everyone’s name in your group should be on your notebook paper. I will give it back to you next class to type up.

HW: ●Study for vocabulary 10 quiz ●Predicate Nominatives Both are due 1/21 ●Check website for extra literary terms to copy down in your Act I packet
