Presentation transcript:

Why do we need to change Local Authority approached Histon and Impington Infant and Histon and Impington Junior schools to discuss possibilities of pupil numbers increasing at some point in the future. Possiblities: HIIS site - Lack of capacity at Infant School to expand buildings and not enough outside space for children Conversion of Infant school site was considered but this would only be a short term solution and not enough outside space HIJS site considered and outcome of studies was to have two double mobiles Spring 2015 Increase in Reception pupil numbers confirmed September 2015 – 25 additional children in Reception classes

Rationale behind the plans Quality education in each classroom is paramount Space for Year 1 children and Reception classes at Infant School Junior School site is much larger so can cope with more children To convert the Infant School this year will be a one year fix as numbers of children are set to increase Offer of additional provision and new resources from September 2015 Finance given to support the change Local Children at Local schools

Timescale We acknowledge it has been shorter than some people would have liked. We would like to thank you for your questions, comments and ideas. Cambridge Primary Education Trust have considered all views. We must all remember the children's education is the key driver.

Consultations Being positive with our children will ensure the smooth transition Working Group for parents, staff and governors The children will have visits. We will discuss and listen to their ideas As plans progress we will inform you

For coming this evening.
