Lesson declard Earthing

Learning outcomes After finished this lesson student to # What is pipe ear thing? # What is plate ear thing? # Define what is ear thing. # various kinds of ear thing. # Say about pipe ear thing.

Earthing Earthing, or grounding as it is often called, simply means connecting to the Earth’s natural, negative surface charge by being barefoot outside or in bare skin contact with conductive systems indoors while you sleep, relax, or work

Fig :earthing

Classification of earthing There are various kinds of earthing these are # Rod earthing # Pipe earthing # Plate earthing # Sheet earthing

Pipe ear thing Pipe ear thing is done outside the tower, a hole of required diameter and depth is excavated and a pipe filled with coke and salt is put inside that hole which will be connected to the earth strip eventually connecting to the foot of the tower.

Fig: pipe ear thing

Plate ear thing

Rod earthing It is the installation of ground rods at a service entrance distribution to bring the relative resistance to ground to be within 5 ohms of the utility's distribution network. This grounding system is then connected to the service distribution with a calculated size wire and connected to the distribution at a point within the distribution panel, where the service neutral wire joins the neutral bus bar.
