Presentation transcript:

By Jacob Ockner.

What was the ethnic of my dad’s side of the family. My dad’s side of the family was Jewish. They all spoke Russian and a little Hebrew. They all came from Russia and were born in Russia. And at home they also spoke Russian. That was the ethnic of my dad’s side of the family.

What was life like when they were living.  In the time when my Great, Great grandpa was living, There was some religious prosecution of the Jewish people, and that was one reason they moved to Michigan. Also, because there weren’t lots of good paying jobs in Russia back then.

What was life like back then when my ancestors moved to Michigan.  When my Great, Great Grandpa moved to Michigan, life was easier but you needed to work hard to get a lot of money. World War II was going on but it did seem as serious in the United States or in Michigan at that time.

What did my ancestors do for a living BEFORE they moved to the United States.  Before my great great grandparents moved to the United States they owned a business in Russia, a shoe store. Also, my Grandpa before he moved to the United States, Worked at a hospital in Russia.

What did my ancestors do when they came to the United States.  And when my great grandparents moved to the United States they owned a farm in Michigan. And my grandpa worked at another hospital in Michigan.

Was it hard life in Michigan back then?  Life was really easy and it was easier to find really good paying jobs. For both of my family’s life was easy since they all immigrated to Michigan. Except my regular grandparents. That’s what life was like back in Michigan  Back then.

Where did my regular grandparents immigrate to?  My great grandparents moved to Michigan. But my regular grandparents immigrated to Ohio instead of Michigan. 

How did my ancestors get to the United States?  Both my dad’s side of the family and mom’s side of the family got to the United States by boat. That’s how they got to the United states.

Was there a political reason why they came here.  No there wasn’t.

That’s the history of my family  THANKS FOR WATCHING FOLKS.
