In addition to a correct workstation layout, it is important to look after your own well being whilst at work. Following are some very simple, but useful suggestions to make your day at work more comfortable. Wellbeing at Work Version Sept 2004
Wellbeing at Work 1. Be aware of your posture. Slowly realign your head - imagine that your head is a teacup balancing on your neck (the saucer!). Keep your head and neck erect and chin tucked. Lower your chair to lessen the need to look down at your screen. Pull your shoulders back into a military posture and then relax them forward slightly. Relax your shoulders!!
Wellbeing at Work 2.Stop and s-t-r-e-t-c-h! To get the best results: Exercise and take short breaks frequently Exercise is one of the best ways you can improve your posture. Include a variety of movements in your workday. It's important to take shorter (even 15 seconds) breaks more frequently rather than one longer break. Remember, movement is necessary for health and comfort. Simply standing up and taking a deep breath each hour will improve your comfort and health. 3. Take a walk Go for a short walk in your lunch break or just go outside for fresh air.
