Introduction  Onesimus Nessib Seminary (ONS):  Website created for educational purposes during this course.  In this Mekane Yesus church seminary one can study three year diploma and four year degree programs in theology.  Course curriculum - DG 124 IT (Information Technology)  This course offers basic computer operating skills focusing on use of Word program and typing. 2 Credits

Information Technology (IT)  Information and communication  Today information is mainly transferred in internet (online).  Internet is a network connection of computers which enables remote communication.  Online education terminology: eLearning and eTeaching.  Computers  Mainframe computers, used by large companies or organizations.  Personal computers (PC) used at home and office.  Tablets and smart phones.

What is a computer?  An electronic device that stores, retrieves and processes data.  Can be programmed with instructions.  Computer is composed of hardware and software, and can exist in a variety of sizes and configurations.  Used for remote communication, games and working.

Computers consist of hardware and software  Hardware  All the machinery and equipment in a computer system.  Tangible - “Everything you can touch is hardware.”  Software  All the instructions that tell the computer how to perform a task.  Intangible - “Not touchable information and instructions used by the computer.”  Operating system (OS) is the main software program.

By using Bible study software, typing and preparing sermons, listening to recordings, music and watching videos.
