Drawbacks of parcel method stability analysis: ice not represented well mixing not represented sondes don’t measure liquid environmental response not considered Conserved variable diagrams examine mixing and air mass history. If upper air is dry enough, becomes strongly cooled by Evaporation => downdraft.
