1. Don’t Lecture 2. Embrace Rule – FEEDBACK! 3. Let students work in groups 4. Use computer as much as possible

 Students now have a harder time paying attention to a lecture.  Try and break up your lesson through interactive activities, movies, music, etc.  An example of teaching without lecturing… MATH VIDEOSMATH VIDEOS

 These can be so helpful if as a teacher, if you become sick or unable to make it to school, you can still talk to your students!  Here are some free sites you can use to create your own podcasts…

 Skype is a new tool that allows you to make FREE voice calls over the internet.  It is also becoming very popular when using internet messaging, file transfers, and video conferencing.

 ALWAYS provide students with a rubric for any project, assignment, assessment that you are giving them.  To receive feedback from students about your assignments, try this website…Survey.Survey

 Students learn to take responsibility in own learning.  Students feel less pressure as they work with others  They receive more and new ideas from their classmates while working together

 Use Movie Maker and assign responsibilities… Music Pictures Topic ○ Details Make your own movie on windows movie maker!

 If available, let students use computers!  It prepares them for the future, as technology in our world is becoming more and more important.

Sample Project: - Use and assign students to use their creativity to design their own city! - They must be able to explain why they built the city the way they did. - Keep in mind: Food, water, houses, recreation, work, etc. - May be done in groups, but city must be must larger if done so.

 USE TECHNOLOGY WHENEVER AVAILABLE!!!! Students love using computers and working in groups. Lecture is BORING.  When students are completing a project or assignment make sure they know what is expected!
