W EEKLY H OMEWORK C ONTINUED READ: You can help your child practice reading. Choose the ways that work best for your child, based on his/her needs and interests. Talk Ask your child to tell you what this book is about Talk about the pictures on each page Read Listen as your child reads the book to you Have your child point under the words as he/she reads If your child is having difficulty with a word, help/her by repeating the word. For example, say, “This is the word big. Now you say it.” If the book appears too difficult, read the book to your child. Write Ask your child to write or draw something about the book.
