VISUAL INTERPRETATION Create a visual interpretation (tiny poster) of the book that includes: – The title (underlined of course) – The author – A “Golden Line” (a great quote from the book that hooks the reader or captures the theme or an “essential flavor” of the story) – A drawing, collage, or comic that conveys the mood, theme, characters, setting, or a pivotal turning point in the book (You get to be creative – no printing from the Internet!) – Your name! – The poster should be the size of the box on the back of this handout – The poster will be displayed—along with the rest of the students’—in the front hall after the book walk for all to enjoy!

3-LINE BOOK TALK Write an intriguing 3-line book talk that gets your audience excited about the book. Your book talk should include: – Set them up: What’s the most interesting thing about the book? – Only share the most important details. – Leave them hanging: What will they want to findout? – See the “How to do a Book Talk” handout for more details!
