Talk first and pretend to understand By Austin Halvosa and Jonathan Hayes

Most of our modern day teens like to talk first because they like to be the center of attention Then even when they are done they don’t care to listen once they’ve gotten what they want. They aren’t patient

They were born with a mouth, so they use it. Make sure they talk a lot. Always express their side of the story First.

Once they’re sure everyone understands their views, they pretend to listen by nodding and saying “uh-huh”.

Start practicing everyday by doing what Mrs. Harrell does and cover your mouth when you really want to talk Write a reminder to yourself to read every morning so you don’t forget Wait for your turn and listen Don’t try to be the center of attention even though you might really want to Actually listen and wait patiently to speak

 We learned that some people are very talkative enough to interrupt others just to be the center of attention  We can avoid being this type of horrid person by simply reminding ourselves by tying a string on our finger  Patience is key. Key I say, key!
