Oncologist An oncologist is someone who inspects, diagnoses, and treats cancerous tumors. The three main types of oncologists are medical, surgical, and radiation oncologists. Typical job duties include making cancer diagnoses, keeping records of patients' test results and physical examinations.

Characteristics Values: You have to be very calm, understanding, caring, and kind. Tasks and responsibilities: inspects, diagnoses, and treats cancerous tumors. Working with data; people; things Data: Oncologists use information from other doctors ,X-rays, and test results to help their patient. People: Oncologists work with people all day long, treating their tumors and helping them find out if they might need chemo. Things: Oncologists use chemotherapy, many tests, and databases to help and treat their patients. Work environment : Most oncologists work in clean and sterilized environments like clinics, hospitals, or healthcare centers. Working hours: They often have to work for long hours, Oncologists who are part of a health network may have more scheduled hours than someone in a private office. On the other hand they tend to work about sixty-two hours a week five days a week.

Characteristics Aptitudes and Abilities: Oncologists provide chemotherapy, but most of what they do involves helping people deal with cancer. Education: In order to be an Oncologist, you must four-year medical school and then undertake specialized training. Once they are accepted by medical schools, candidates have to pass the first two stages of the United States Medical Licensing Examination before they start their residencies. Residency programs generally last about two to four years. Salary: Generally make about $257,000 a year. Benefits: Most oncologists also receive employee benefits through their employer or practice, including paid time off, health insurance and retirement plan contributions. International Career Outlook; Career Outlook: The career outlook on an oncologist is good, there will always be a demand and need for an oncologist because there is not a cure for cancer, along with no way for people not to get cancer.

Tasks and Responsibilities Generally an oncologist talks with patients and their others doctors as well about treatment ideas along with their plan to help them. This career falls under the health science career cluster. Medical oncologists explain cancer development stages to patients, discuss treatment options and assist in pain management. They care for patients throughout the entire course of cancer treatment, from diagnosis to recovery or death.

Lifestyle and location The salary of an oncologist is about $257,000. On this type of salary I believe that I can live my life the way I would like, not worrying about money issues. For this job I would not have to relocate because anywhere I would go people have cancer and need a doctor.

Family Lawyer Family law attorneys help clients with divorces, guardianships, agreements, adoptions, parental rights and custody. Most attorneys make between $76,000 and $170,000 a year.

Characteristics Values: Responsible, respectful, and understanding. Tasks and Responsibilities: Family law attorneys help clients with divorces, guardianships, prenuptial agreements, adoptions, parental rights and custody.  Working with data; people ; things Data: Most lawyers have to collect data from banks, families, and People: Being a family lawyer you would have a tendency to work with people all day long, unless you are working in a office. Education and training: You'll need an undergraduate degree to start a career in law, followed by three years of law school.  After graduating from law school, you must pass a written bar exam in the state where you intend to practice. Salary and Benefits: Most lawyers made between $76,000 and $170,000. Career Outlook: The general economy has much to do with the demand for family lawyers. “ U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) predicted that employment for all types of attorneys, including family lawyers, will increase by 10% from 2012-2022, about as fast as average for all occupations.”(http://learningpath.org/)

Lifestyle goals Given the salary and working hours , I think I could live a comfortable lifestyle. If I wanted I would be able to work in geographic areas as well. Being a family lawyer, I would be able to work anywhere. Families are always in need of assistance. Helping families is something that comes with a rewarding experience.
