Eph 4:7-13 The Five-fold ministry of the body of Christ

teacher One who grasps Truth, is excited by it and who holds it out for others to receive. The teacher provokes others to explore truth.

pastor Shepherds the people, cares with a tender heart, sees needs. Confronts as well as encourages. Long to see Christians grow to their full potential. Easily empathize with others and stimulate them to care.

evangelist  “bearer of Good News”  brings good news and shares readily  Love spending time with non Christians  Know the gospel and make it relevant  Provoke other Christians in their witness and give them boldness.

prophet Prophets enjoy:  being alone with God,  waiting on God  listening to God  Speaking out God’s heart’s desires

apostle “one who is sent out” The apostle is visionary and pioneering. They might plant or establish new churches. They provoke others to seek vision and start new things
