STUDENT LED CONFERENCES By Ben Witkowski

summarizes what you have learned this year. what is your favorite part of science, what is your least favorite part of science and why? This year in science we have learned about minerals, elements and the periodic table, map graphing, and ocean animals. My favorite part of science is when we get to do lots of hands on work such as when we made are stop motion animations. This is my favorite part because I think that I learned the most during these hand on activity's. My least favorite part of science this year is doing the labs. I think the labs in science are my least favorite pat of science because they are what I struggle with most in science (as will be said again further in the conference).

On a scale of 1-5 (5 being the best) rate yourself on your ability to complete all the assignments for class. Why? I rate myself a 4. I rate myself a 4 because I think it is a fare number for myself. I think in class work I do very well with and make sure I do well in class and us my time and effort in a well organized way that I can get my stuff done with on time. I also think I am generally good with homework such as work sheets or something such as that. However I think that when I am doing labs or long projects when I am not with a partner I struggle. I think when I am working by myself that I always get a little confused and worried when I am working and get flustered with the project. I have a bad habit of just ignoring things out of pure frustration and I think because of this I often turn in projects late. I have realized this and I am now trying to find a better way to do projects than just getting frustrated.

On a scale of 1-5 (5 being the best) rate yourself on your class time effort & positive contributions to class discussion(s). Why? I rate myself a 3. I rate myself a 3 because I think I spend my class time productively doing work and I think I do it with a sufficient amount of effort. I also don’t ever negatively contribute during class discussions. However I only rate my self a 3 because I don’t talk during class discussions. I never raise my hand and I only give myself a 3 because I know I should contribute so I can be more focused and paying attention during class.

On a scale of 1-5 (5 being the best) rate yourself on your ability to work with others in class. Why? I rate myself a 4.. I rate myself a 4 because I think I work very well with others in class and I share the work load equally. I think that sometimes I argue with people about any plan we have with a presentation or anything like that. I don’t like to listen to others ideas so I gave myself a 4.

On a scale of 1-5 (5 being the best) Describe/list steps you will take to improve upon your performance for next quarter/year. Why? I don’t have any specific steps I am going to take to improve how ever I do know what I am trying to improve. I am trying to improve turning big projects in on time because I have been struggling with that this year. I am also trying to work on my teamwork skills and I am working on listening to my team mates when in a group setting.

On a scale of 1-5 (5 being the best) Has your performance in Science this year been improving, getting worse, or staying the same? Can you explain why this may be the case? I rate myself a 2.5. I rate myself a 2.5 because although I don’t think my performance in science is getting any worst. I do however think my performance is not getting any better therefore I gave myself a 2.5 because it is right in the middle.
