Presentation transcript:

Unit Plan: Branding The Hook Grab brands from around the room A brand is what we say about ourselves, how we act, and what people think of us through our communications and creations

Branding intro Presenting the Big Idea: Graphic Design is subjective (clients) but it can still be done objectively well. Branding distills communication down to powerful elements that you will regularly use Grabbing relevant examples and redesigns for presentation to create interest (the best part: they already have background knowledge!)

Digital Media Development 11 Create a new logo for your school – Activity: Start with some iterations PLOs this is crucial for: – Select graphic file formats appropriate for us in print, video, or web – Construct a complex document using a variety of page layout and graphic design concepts and tools – Select and use appropriate textures, templates, and filters in 2D media – Compose 2D images using processes and tools – Consider the ethical issues relevant to misrepresenting the work of others by digital manipulation

Assessment Students are part of a creative team and they’ve been handed a brief for a logo redesign Self assessment: Make numerous iterations and pare them down to the one option you think is best – rationale Summative Assessment as a pitch to the “Creative Director” – checks for objective standards Peer Assessment: Survey Time
