This picture shows the beautiful portico of marble stands (pilasters) with Corinthian capitals which runs down one side of the garden of the Villa of Julia Felix. The finest rooms of the Villa in which Julia Felix herself would have resided

The Villa of Julia Felix occupied a whole block and was situated just off the Via dell' Abbondanza. The villa contained a vegetable garden and an orchard together with a set of baths. When the villa was being excavated, an advertisement was found which indicated that Julia Felix wanted to let the elegant baths, workshops and apartments in her villa. This gives us an indication of the property market at Pompeii after the earthquake of 62 AD when many buildings were destroyed.

Hi my name is Greg, and I want to interview you for channel 8. Ok where are you going on your tour? – We are going to Julia Felixs Villa. –ok well you’ll be on channel 8 tomorrow at 7:30.-Ok.
