Award Subcommittee Lessons Learned from 2014 Intelligent Systems Award We have named this award the same as a high-level AIAA honor award… rename!! If an award cycle is skipped, all the carry-over nominees are no longer eligible for the next award cycle Ensure that we always have at least one new nominee for each award cycle When identifying a potential nominator, find out if he/she is an AIAA member since only AIAA members are eligible to make nomination AIAA members can nominate a nominee whom they don’t know, but consider to contact nominee to work with them to strengthen the nomination package Have a pool of good candidates to go to when problems develop with one of the nominations Develop a schedule to track nomination process Establish a selection panel in advance to save time
