Your Rotation Schedule

What is Case Logger?  Case Logger allows you to record information on patient encounters electronically  Case Logger replaces the paper log book  You complete required fields and save  Because the application is web-based, you can access and add cases conveniently

Case Logger Tracking & Reports  Each clerkship has defined the requirements for the types of patients to be seen, diagnoses, and/or procedures  New Innovations will help you keep track of how well you are meeting the objectives of each clerkship  Clerkship directors and coordinators can view online reports of student progress

Summary of Case Logger Steps  Go to Main > Case Logger > Add Case Logs  Select the rotation name (e.g., MD 838).  Enter the date of the patient encounter.  Complete each field. Fields marked with * are required.  Save your case log entry.

Logging a Case  Select your rotation from the drop-down list.  Record the date of the patient encounter.  Begin recording case information.

Logging a Case  Select a diagnosis from drop-down list.  Continue to record information.

Logging a Case  Record patient information.  Use the medical record number and avoid inserting names.

Logging a Case  Complete the remaining fields.  Save your entry.  View your logs.

Case Log Reminders  Check each course syllabus carefully. Logging requirements will vary with each clerkship.  Log your cases regularly. You must enter them within the dates of each clerkship rotation.  If you complete a requirement with a simulated experience, be sure to log it.

Course/Faculty Evaluations  You will use New Innovations to complete required evaluations for your clerkship.  You will receive notifications about evaluations.
