Course Description – page 6 This is a survey of world history. It is organized into units that begin with pre-history and progress through the early 21 st century/ modern day. In studying history, students will learn the geography of the world’s regions. They will also begin to develop a cultural understanding through the social sciences of economics, political science, anthropology, and sociology. A special effort will be made to connect history to current issues and events. The goal is to enhance students’ awareness of the world and its complexity.
