Why CAHSEE Matters to You It’s one of 3 types of requirements you must meet to earn your diploma from PHS Must pass BOTH English and math portions of CAHSEE Must pass Algebra 1 Must complete the 220 credits or requirements of district

CAHSEE Opportunities One opportunity to pass in 10 th grade Two opportunities in 11 th grade Five opportunities to take in 12 th grade (remember that May test scores may not come back in time for Graduation) Who wants to take a test 8 times?

10 th grade CAHSEE You will take the test over 2 days in March. The English exam will be on Tuesday, March 17. The math exam will be on Wednesday, March 18.

Let’s Talk Numbers Our goal/ expectation is that students will score proficient on CAHSEE—that means you meet the FEDERAL requirements Proficient score is 380 (perfect score is 450) on both math and English On English test, that’s a 77 % (only 14 questions above passing or 61%) On math test, that’s a 73% (only 15 questions above passing or 54%)
