Mrs. Elizabeth Cancel Room 215

School-Wide Expectations BE SAFE BE RESPECTFUL BE RESPONSIBLE

CLASSROOM RULES 1.Respect yourself and other at all times 2.Be prompt and ready to work 3.Follow the directions the FIRST time they are given

SO WHAT SHOULD YOU EXPECT IF YOU CHOOSE NOT TO FOLLOW THE RULES… Here are the specific consequences. 1 st Offense- Verbal/Written warning. 2 nd Offense- Parent is contacted (Teacher issued consequence). 3 rd Offense- Student will report to the principal with the documentation showing the action was dealt with several times before this final action. (Office referral)

Make-Up Work If you are absent it is your responsibility to get your work. Have a buddy in class that will fill you in on what you missed and then ask Mrs. Cancel for the assignments. They are in the big organizer by the Forbidden Door. Should you interrupt class to ask for make-up work?--- Probably not!

CHAMPS for Entering Class Students should enter the classroom in an orderly fashion. Student should be in his/her seat before the tardy bell rings. Students should have all materials needed to succeed in class including: science journal, sharpened pencils, paper, and any assignments that are due. NOTICE I SAID THAT YOUR PENCIL SHOULD BE SHARPENED BEFORE THE BELL! Students should sit down and start working on the posted warm-up. A warm-up will be assigned every day. Get in the habit of expecting it. Warm-up questions may be located on the board, screen, or on your desk. You will have about 5-10 minutes to finish the question(s). At the end of the week your warm-up’s will be counted as one grade. DON’T MISPLACE THEM!

CHAMPS for Leaving Class Before leaving class, clean up your work area. Please make sure all trash is thrown away in the trash can. It is important that you keep our classroom clean, just as you would keep the environment clean. The Bell does not dismiss you. The class does not dismiss you. The teacher is the only one who dismisses you. Whenever you hear me say “Have a Great day!” That is your que!

Laboratory Days On days that we will be completing laboratory assignments students are expected be on their best behavior not only for their safety, but for the safety of everyone in the classroom. Students will be removed from the lab if they do not follow all of the directions carefully. There is absolutely no horse playing during lab time as well as eating or drinking. Students should not take any of the lab materials before instructed to do so- if this happens that student will be given a warning and asked to complete an alternative assignment.
