Overview Test Experiment Design Testing Measurement Data Demonstration Kit Issues Solutions
Experiment Design Red dot represents handheld CW beacon Person in car drives in oval formation around operator Corresponding LEDs light up in the direction the signal is coming from accordingly System will be utilized in foxhunting upon completion 0º 270º90º 180º
Experiment Design
Testing Measurement Data Measurement data for the small scale testing will be mostly qualitative data Testing will focus on relative accuracy and consistency of the system This data will reflect the usability of our system at the CW beacon frequency ( MHz, 2- meter band) and further calibration techniques
Testing Measurement Data Note: One data sheet for each kit. Time and location will be determined from measurements from both kits
Demonstration “Beeline Big Beacon” Programmable 440 MHz beacon Adjustable frequency for package dissemination Morse Code reads: W1WSU Command
Issues First Kit Issues Finding the CW Signal Audio signal sporadic Second Kit Assembled, not functional Pending functionality of first kit Once problems are diagnosed, second kit will become functional quickly
Solutions
Functional rigging persists Utilize instructional videos Documentation provided from Ramsey Electronics is vague Further testing will continue with CW beacon source
Yagi Antennas Reconfigured RG58 connection point
