Mouth-the body opening through what we people take in when we eat.

Esophagus Esophagus-the esophagus is located from the stomach all the way to the back of the throat. It’s function is to carry our food to our stomach. This organ is only 12 inches long.

Stomach Stomach-The stomach is an organ in the alimentary canal used to digest food. That is so cool.

Small Intestine Small Intestines-It’s main job is to absorb the nutrient’s of food, deliver it to the blood stream, and pass it to the large intestines.

Large Intestine Large Intestines- the large intestines is made up of the colon and the rectum. It is the second to last of the digestive system.

Liver Liver-The liver helps you by taking toxins out of your blood. Our body produces them as a part of it’s normal fuction.

Appendix Appendix-The appendix is located in your lower right abdomen. Just past the ileocecal value.

Pancreas Pancreas- the pancreas is a gland organ that is located in the abdomen. It is apart of the digestive system. It produces important Enzymes and hormones that help break down foods.

Gull bladder Gull bladder- The Gull bladder is not required to live. It is responsible for digesting foods.

Enzymes Enzymes- there are different types of enzymes. One of them is called digestive enzymes. It helps us break down minerals like protein or carbohydrate.

Bile/ Bile duct Bile/bile duct- A bile duct is a long tube-like structures that carry bile.

Chemical digestion Chemical digestion- it takes place in the small intestine.

Mucus Mucus-The mucus helps keeping everything gliding along. It helps linking the digestive tract.

Mechanical digestion Mechanical digestion- mechanical digestion involves the physical breakdown our food.

Salivary Amylase Salivary Amylase- it begins the digestion of starch by catalysing the breack down of amylose and amylopection.

Absorption Absorption-it processthat moves food through the alimentary cell.
