What is AAHA Accreditation? Veterinary practices that accept the challenge of accreditation are evaluated on stringent quality standards that encompass all aspects of pet care – ranging from patient care and pain management, to team training and medical record keeping. 5

How is a practice accredited? Preparing for the evaluation is a team-building experience and increases morale On the day of the evaluation, an AAHA consultant visits and spends 1-2 days in the hospital evaluating the practice on over 900 standards. To maintain their accreditation, a practice must be re-evaluated every 3 years. 7
