Chinese Art By Mia Kartelo and Alyssa Marie Davila

Introduction Imagine it’s a casual day. You’re in the Museum and you’re looking at Chinese paintings. All of a sudden these questions pop up in your head like: History about hand made art, Delicate brushstroke, History about Performing Arts (Music). Well here is your ticket to China! So relax, sit back, and enjoy the flight to China.

Hand Made Art Now we’re on our first stop. Did you know 5,000 years ago people made hand made pots? Hand made art took a long time to make, about 4 weeks. Here are the important stages a real artist needs to know. First stage: make the pot, Second stage: let the pot dry, Third stage: paint the pot, Forth stage: let the paint dry. Then your master piece is done!

Delicate Brushstroke Here we are on our second stop, the delicate brushstroke. Did you know calligraphy alphabet has 8 brushstrokes. WATCH OUT! Here’s another dragon fact coming your way! Calligraphy was written in black ink, and brushes are made from animal hair. When the people communicate with calligraphy they would draw almost like a picture!

Performing Art (Music) Now we are on our last stop, Performing Arts (Music). Did you know when the war ended the government decided that people should make Music. WATCH OUT there is another dragon fact coming your way. Did you know that Western Music was popular in China? The Chinese kids loved Music so their teachers said that there will be Music class. In China the people had WAY different instruments. For example, free reed pipes and single reed pipes.

Back Home Now we are back home, you visited all of our stops and most important of all is that you learned many interesting things. You learned the history of hand made art, delicate brushstroke, and last but not least performing arts (Music). Hope you enjoyed your flight.
