Fossil Fuels Coal…Coal is a combustible, sedimentary, organic rock, which is composed mainly of carbon, hydrogen and oxygen. Oil…. Crude oil, natural.
Why are fossil fuels considered nonrenewable? Fossil Fuels are sources of energy that take a very long period of time to form and once depleted, are essentially.

Renewable/Non-Renewable What does it all mean?  Pfizer Inc

Definitions A natural resource that is inexhaustible or replaceable A natural resource that cannot be remade, re-grown or regenerated RENEWABLE NON- RENEWABLE

Renewable or non-renewable?

Renewable or Non-Renewable?

What makes Coal, Natural Gas and Oil Non-renewable ?

The Purpose of Planning with POWER Watershed & Natural Resource Planning Land Use Decisions and Planning

Why did the dinosaur cross the road? Because the chicken hadn’t evolved yet!

Inventory natural resources Target development to the most appropriate areas Prioritize areas for protection Comprehensive Planning is a Key Step Incorporate open space planning Develop plan of action Revise zoning and subdivision regulations

Let’s modify our definition A natural resource that is inexhaustible or replaceable … A natural resource that cannot be remade, re-grown or regenerated… RENEWABLE NON- RENEWABLE within the laws of the balance of nature on a scale comparative to its consumption

For Example: Wind Power as renewable energy:  Can only generate 0.5% of the energy usage needs of the United States Ethanol as a renewable energy:  You will need to plant a little more than a half an acre of corn to produce enough ethanol to drive an average sized car across country and you would need about 140 gallons (530 liters) of fossil fuel to plant, grow and harvest an acre of corn.

For Example, Example Hemp as a renewable resource for the manufacture of durable clothing  Growth of this plant is prohibited in the United States Bamboo as a renewable resource for use in flooring  Bamboo floors cost three times as much as hard wood or laminate flooring

HUMANS ARE RENEWABLE - BUT ONLY IN THE RIGHT CIRCUMSTANCES AND WITHIN THE LAWS OF THE BALANCE OF NATURE
