Definition Of Renewable Energy Renewable energy is a type of energy that can be used more than one time, making it more economical for our world Some Examples of Renewable Energy are Wave Energy Hydroelectric Energy Biomass Energy

Definition of Non-renewable Energy Non-renewable Energy is a type of energy that can’t be renewed, therefore it can only be used once. Some examples of Non-renewable Energy are Coal Energy Crude Oil Energy Nuclear Energy

Wave Energy This is one type of wave energy, how it works is that the capture chamber is on the side of a rock face and the waves enter this chamber and repeatedly compress and decompress the air in the chamber, which turns the turbine and produces energy.

Hydroelectric Energy Hydroelectric energy works by water falling or running spins a turbine which then goes on to produce electricity. To produce more energy at one time it depends how fast the turbine spins and this depends on how fast the water is travelling wether it is just running through or falling at a fast speed.

Biomass Energy This type of biomass energy works by bacteria decomposing the manure to make methane gas this is called Biogas. The gas is then burned and goes on to produce electricity. Other types of biomass are used today the most common types are wood, wood chips, animal manure and crop wastes.

Coal Energy Coal energy works by the coal being burnt and then that boils water in a boiler and steam goes on to turn a turbine which spins into the generator and generates most of our homes electricity today. About 40 percent.

Crude Oil Energy Crude oil is firstly pumped from the ground and it is then put through different processes to produce different types of gas including petroleum, gasoline and diesel.

Nuclear Energy Nuclear energy works by the core heating and then splitting atoms the control rods are lowered into the core to slow down the reaction and raising them increases the reaction. Water flows around the primary loop picking up the heat that the core generates. Heat transfers from water in the primary loop to water in the secondary loop. The water in the secondary loop turns to steam. The steam powers a turbine which is connected to the generator which then generates energy.

Advantages and disadvantages of Renewable Energy Advantages It is more economical because it can’t run out It can be used over and over They produce hardly any Greenhouse gasses They don’t need other types of energy for it to work Disadvantages It is expensive In wave energy there needs to be waves It is produced in short bursts Some of the things can run out like animal manure (There needs to be animals)

Advantages and Disadvantages of Non-Renewable Energy Advantages We know it works well and good It is produced in bulk It is not very expensive We Know that it is a very good source of energy Disadvantages They Produce Greenhouse gasses Coal needs heat energy to burn Eventually some of these things will run dry It can only be used once
