Welcome to the Symposium Long Title: Accountability Update Short Title: ACC Course Number: 604 Presenter: Ken Barbour, NCDPI Length: 45 minutes This session should provide school staff an understanding of how data are collected from the state and pushed out to other systems. In addition, the session will include a discussion of test score issues and future developments. M 9: :15 AUD 3 M 3:00 - 3:45 AUD 1

Use Of Data To The State State and Federal Data Reports –School, District and State Level Reports READY Accountability Model Annual Measurable Objectives School Performance Grades NC School Report Card State Board of Education Legislative Requests –Title III AMAO Report –Other Reports and Data Requests

Importance of the Data and Reporting Must have Accurate Data for Federal and State Reporting –Use Student-Level Data More Accurate Data = Easier Reporting –Apply Data Quality Control Procedures –Use Auditing Processes

Accountability Services Apply Business Rules –Masking Rules ( 95) –Calculating Proficiency Targets (140 day rule) –Calculating Participation Targets (95%) –At least 30 students are needed for subgroup reporting

Accountability Services Data Submissions –NC School Report Card –CEDARS –Schoolnet –EVAAS –PowerSchool –Researchers –External Vendors

Accommodations LEP, 504 and Transitory accommodations are collected with Third parties systems like PCG, ESL Enovation's and PowerSchool entry screens. Cecas manages all EC accommodations regardless of third party. EC Third party information is transferred to CECAS

Accommodations Upload ACCOM_DATA_###. TXT third-party file to secure shell. LEAs who track non-IEP accommodations (i.e. LEP, S504, TID plan types) in systems other than CECAS and PowerSchool must submit an ACCOM_DATA_###.TXT file monthly to testing coordinator. Accountability IT system merges them into a master file.

Accommodations A new ACCOM###.TXT file and 2015-CUR- ACCOM report will be generated automatically to reflect any changes or updates received from PowerSchool, CECAS, and non-IEP third-party files. PowerSchool and CECAS is received daily, however, third-party IEP data received from CECAS may only be updated according to a weekly schedule.

Accommodations Master EC files from Cecas are provided to the online testing system to assist with providing the appropriate accommodation for the individual student. The third party LEP, 504 and transitory plans are also provided to the online testing system.

Entering Test Scores and Reason Codes See new Document Notice on test dropdown that Reading is retired and replaced with Language Arts. Not sure if scores were moved to new title. Accountability continues to load test scores.
